Repairs, Renovation and Restoration ( RRR) Project RRR Phase-I Government of Andhra Pradesh is implementing a pilot project, for Repairs, Renovation and Restoration of Water Bodies directly linked to Agriculture, in Mahabubnagar Nagar and Ananthapur Districts, with Govt. of India assistance. Total project cost is Rs. 45.01 crores, out of which 75% i.e., Rs. 33.825 Crores is grant from Government of India and 25% i.e., Rs. 11.185 Crores is Government of Andhra Pradesh share. Government of India have identified Ananthapur and Mahabubnagar Districts for this project for restoration of Minor Irrigation Tanks, as Ananthapur district has the second lowest rainfall, in the country and Mahabubnagar is a backward and drought prone district. Administrative approval for the project in Ananthapur and Mahabubnagar Districts is accorded as follows:
Schedule of completion : The project was scheduled to be completed by July, 2007. However due to heavy rains, the works could not be completed and hence all the balance works are completed by Dec’08. Status Report Ananthapur District:

RRR II Project : Keeping in view the success of the pilot scheme for RRR water bodies the GOI invited the states to submit the proposals vide MOWR D.O Lr.No 7/3/2009-WB,Dt:19.08.2009 duly enclosing the guide lines. For special Category projects benefiting under Drought Prone /Tribal / Naxal – affected areas, 90 % of the project cost will be provided as Central Assistance (Grant) by the Government of India and 10 % of the cost by State Government. For non – special category projects 25 % of the cost will be provided as Central Assistance (Grant) by Government of India and 75 % cost is to be borne by state Government. The Government of India has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 339.70 crores to take up Repairs, Renovation and Restoration for 1,029 water bodies having total ayacut of 1.08 lakhs hectars (2.66 lakh acres) to bridge the gap ayacut of 0.34 lakhs hectars (0.84 lakh acres) in the 12 districts of Andhra Pradesh as detailed below under DPAP & Naxal areas .The Government of Andhrapradesh vide G.O Ms No 7 I&CAD/MI IV Dt 01-12-2011 has accorded administrative approval for Rs. 339.70 Cr. Under special category with GOI grant of Rs 305.77 Cr. and GOAP share of Rs 33.92 Cr to take up Repairs, Renovation and Restoration for 1,029 water bodies. RRR of Water Bodies Scheme Phase III: Under Repair, Renovation and Restoration (RRR) of Water Bodies phase III , 8148 tanks with cost of Rs 1421.21 Cr. and ayacut of 4.43 Lakh Ha are furnished to the Ministry of Water Resources (MOWR) , GOI , New Delhi for sanction. The details are under.
