Right To Information Act - 2005
Right to Information Act 2005 a landmark legislation passed by the Government of India is one of the most powerful tools for ushering in Good Governance and came into force on the 12th October, 2005 (120th day of its enactment on 15th June 2005). Under sub-section (3) of Section 15 of the RTI Act 2005, Government of Andhra Pradesh constituted State Information Commission consisting of one State Chief Information Commissioner, and two State Information Commissioners by November 2005.
In response to the directive issued by the AP Chief Information Commissioner for the implementation of the provisions of the RTI Act 2005 the CADA initiated measures to implement the same, vide office order no: CAD/DEE4/2497/2006 dated 14 8 06. The exercise of the powers conferred under sub section (b) of the section 4 of the Right to Information Act of 2005 puts information on the 17 items in public domain. The information on the 17 items are published as chapters 1-17 appended to the order in respect of Irrigation and CAD department for the intended user.
